We are 2kit, a small team in Düsseldorf, Germany. We have built apps since 2010.
We made Screen Recording App for a simple reason: we needed a screen recorder we could trust, and the built-in tools kept letting people down. It records your screen on the web, on iPhone and iPad, and on Android, with nothing uploaded and no account to create. This page is who we are and why we built it.

Why we built Screen Recording App
We build apps for a living, and recording the screen is part of that work every single day. Capturing a bug to show a developer. Filming a quick demo of a new feature. Checking that something looks right across a dozen different phones, tablets, and TVs. We needed a recorder that just worked: no watermark stamped on the clip, no sign-in before it would start, and no quiet upload of our unreleased screens to someone else's server.
At the same time, the people around us kept hitting the same wall from the other side. Family and friends wanted to record a video call, save a bit of gameplay, or film a short how-to for a relative, and the tools they already had made it harder than it should be. The recorder built into Windows only exists on Windows 11 and captures no system sound. iPhone and Android hide a recorder in a menu, with almost no editing and clips that vanish into the camera roll. So we built the tool we wished existed, and we opened it to everyone.
Building apps since 2010
We have built mobile and web apps since 2010, across phones, tablets, and televisions. Our apps have passed 100 million downloads. That is a lot of screens recorded, a lot of bug reports filmed, and a lot of real devices handled over the years.
That experience is why Screen Recording App is built to be reliable where it counts: long, multi-hour recordings that survive a crash, system audio together with your microphone, a proper editor on the phone, and the same local-first promise whether you record on the web, on an iPhone or iPad, or on Android. We did not set out to build the flashiest recorder. We set out to build one we would trust with our own work.
Private by design
A screen recording is one of the most revealing files you can make. It can hold your messages, your email, your banking, a client's unreleased product, or a friend's face on a video call. We did not want any of that passing through our servers - so none of it does.
Everything happens on your device. The browser recorder captures and saves locally, and nothing is uploaded. The phone apps write the recording straight to your device. No account, no cloud step, no watermark. We cannot see your recordings, and that is exactly the point: the only safe copy of a sensitive recording is the one that never left your hands.
